Hey. My name is Noor. I am a 19 years old Lebanese girl.
For those who do not know, Lebanon is a small country in the Middle East. I explain only so you can know how far the love for House really goes.
My journey with House began in the spring of 2010 when a local channel aired “All in” (S2E17).
I watched it and I became so invested in the episode that I found myself having this “wow” expression on my face. After the episode ended I thought “I’ve never seen anything like this before.”
The next day I went to school and I remember telling my friend:
“Yesterday I met my idol. He is a doctor. He is brilliant, smart, mysterious, funny, sarcastic, has blue eyes, plays the piano and good at poker.”
That was it. I couldn’t get House off my mind. This episode captured the heart and mind of a 17 year old girl and I would never be the same.
The next summer, I started watching all the episodes online and I became more and more vested in this character and this show. After watching Season: 6 I realized:
“House is not just a TV show”
So I bought all the episodes on DVDs, rewatched them all and joined the House fandom on Twitter. That’s when House officially became a big part of my life.
House made me know what I really love in this life and that everything would involve medicine.
House taught me about relationships, friendships, faith, pain, misery, happiness, and pretty much everything someone could face in his life.
House made me think, analyze, and understand people.
House made me less naïve.
House made me realize that right and wrong do exist, that what I do and what you do matters.
House made me a different person, it made me a better person.
Last but not least, House introduced me to Mr. Hugh Laurie.
Hugh Laurie is the one who brought House to life. He is simply a genius.
For me Hugh is the definition of perfection.
I love whatever he does whether it’s acting, directing, writing, singing, playing the piano, riding his motorcycle, being Stephen Fry’s friend, being a great husband, being a great father, being Hugh Laurie. Why do I love him? I love him because he helped me find the song in my heart.
One thing I wanted to mention is that after I joined Twitter I met so many House and Hugh fans whom became my friends and family. These friends are for life even if I may never see them in real life they are real.
House changed my life and that’s why he will always be in my heart, right next to Hugh Laurie.
Everybody Lies. Except me when I wrote this letter. ;)
Thank you David Shore for creating House
Thank you Hugh Laurie for playing House
Thank you House MD for everything.
